MAGCOOP Donates COVID-19 Essentials to Community

What's New

As a way of giving back to the community where it operates, Magsaysay Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAGCOOP) once again donated COVID-19 essentials to Barangay 666 in Ermita, Manila last March 31, 2021. We can remember that MAGCOOP first reached out to Barangays 666 and 667 to donate 100 sacks of rice at the onset of the pandemic last year.

Due to the surge of COVID-19 cases in March 2021, ten (10) gallons of alcohol, fifty (50) boxes of face mask, and fifty (50) pieces of face shields were given to Barangay 666 frontliners. The Coop also gave twenty-five (25) sacks of rice for distribution.

Among the barangay officials who received the relief goods were Barangay Captain Felix Macapagal, Committee on Health Chairperson and Barangay Councilor Delia Benasa, Barangay Secretary Jimmy Balagtas, Barangay Councilor Edilberto Dizon, and Barangay Health Emergency Response Team Personnel (BHERT) Anita De Vera.

The donation was handed over by MAGCOOP Operations Manager Rommel Villasfer and MAGCOOP House Outlet Manager Ma. Elena Galapin.

Cooperatives are mandated by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to have a Community Development Fund for outreach programs in the community where they are present. The Coop will continue to be active in social work as part of its Community Outreach Program.
